Fundraising Adviser Joins ME&V

CEDAR FALLS (August 2, 2006) - The ME&V fundraising department welcomes Kay Thuesen as its newest adviser. Thuesen has a variety of experiences in fundraising, public affairs coordination, time management consulting, business ownership and working with volunteers.

Thuesen spent nearly a decade at the University of Northern Iowa Museums and was involved with the mass coordination and success of The Field Museum exhibit “A T. rex Named SUE.” More than 45,000 people visited the exhibit while it was in the Cedar Valley.

She is an active volunteer, having served the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Association, Hartman Reserve Nature Center Under the Harvest Moon Annual Fundraiser, Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls and Sartori Hospital Auxiliary’s Festival of Trees. She also served as sales and merchandising festival organizer for this summer’s College Hill Arts Festival.

Thuesen, a graduate from Western Illinois University, started her career as a buyer in the purchasing department at John Deere. Thuesen was co-owner of Ivy Basket Gifts, a gift basket and award program retailer.
