Operation Restore Trust of Iowa Calendars Earn National Recognition
CEDAR FALLS (July 20, 2006) - The National Consumer Protection Technical Resource Center for Senior Medicare Patrols (SMPs), in conjunction with the U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA), selected two Operation Restore Trust of Iowa calendars as 2006 Products & Practices of Distinction (PPOD). The calendars, directed at nursing home administrators, state legislators and Medicare/Medicaid recipients, were recognized nationally as a “best practice” to empower healthcare beneficiaries and to protect the federal healthcare system from errors, fraud and abuse.
The selection was based on consistency with SMP project goals, innovation, reproducibility and measurable outcomes. The calendars were among three PPOD selections from across the nation. Entries from Minnesota and Oregon were also selected. PPOD award recipients will receive recognition in December at the National SMP Health Care Fraud Control Conference held in conjunction with the AoA National Summit.
The aim of Operation Restore Trust of Iowa is to return money back to the Medicare trust fund and to enhance the public’s ability to be able to trust their healthcare providers. For more information visit www.stopmedicarescams.org.
The calendars were designed by ME&V, a specialized, full-service advertising and fundraising consultancy with offices in Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Chris Corkery, ME&V art director, developed the calendars. David Hildahl, ME&V copywriter, and Jen Simmer, ME&V graphic designer, assisted Corkery on the project.
