Through its Web site and its representatives, the Legislative Information Office (LIO) assists the public in many ways.  The LIO office, in Room 16 in the basement of the State Capitol, is normally open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
The LIO can:
- Help you find bill numbers, check bill status, locate amendments, and determine meeting times and places
- Provide informational and educational materials on the Iowa Legislature to interested groups
- Provide access to a computer terminal that ties into the Legislature's computer system. You can quickly look up the number, title, status, and text of a bill or amendment, as well as the latest committee action, schedules, and other information
- Serve you by telephone, by mail or in person at their offices

The Legislative Services Agency Library houses print, audio, and electronic publications of significance to the legislative process, and maintains databases of archived legislative documents. It is open to the public. Photocopies and printouts are available for those items not on the legislative Web site.

Computer Services provides nonpartisan technology solutions and support to the General Assembly and its staff. It maintains the General Assembly’s mainframe computer system, local area network, and the Internet and Intranet Web sites.
